St Marys Secondary School - Baldoyle
St. Mary's Secondary School for girls, Baldoyle is a thriving and welcoming educational establishment, offering a full range of subjects and levels at Junior and Leaving Certificate. Students are encouraged to achieve their potential and in the process, discover hidden talents and abilities catered for by the vast array of extra and inter curricular activities on offer.
St. Mary's Secondary School for Girls is a Catholic School under the care of the Sisters of Charity. They aim for high academic standards and emphasize the moral, religious and social development of each student in a caring community. They work in partnership with parents to prepare our students to be independent, tolerant and compassionate.
Their aim is to achieve high academic achievement coupled with a student centered approach. Each student is valued and encouraged to reach her full potential. The friendly and warm atmosphere is noticeable as soon as one enters the building and is further enhanced by the pleasant surroundings - including gardens, a pond, picnic tables and an aviary. Many of their students are daughters of past pupils and they currently have five past pupils on the teaching staff. They also have a tradition of encouraging the enrolment of International students. They have always had a non discriminatory admission policy and emphasis on social inclusion.
A highly successful Green School with 5 Green Flags, St. Mary’s is the pioneering secondary school for the fifth Green Flag on Global Awareness and European Citizenship. St. Mary’s has been designated a Fair Trade School since May 2010. Fundraising for their sister school in Lusaka, Zambia, is our major charitable focus this year led to a visit in July 2011. Two major fundraising events were organised for December 2010. A fun Filled Christmas Evening and a Fun Pub Quiz.
