St Louis High School - Dublin

St. Louis High School was opened in 1913, and since then, has maintained its tradition of imparting a full, balanced and well rounded education to its students. The intellectual, spiritual, moral and emotional needs of each student are catered for in a Christian and respectful way.
The school community seeks to live and to proclaim Christian values, to accept people as they are, to affirm their individuality, their present gifts and future promise, and to encourage them as they mature. The school is a community, in which staff, students and parents contribute towards developing a sense of responsibility and confidence which enables its members to choose with goodwill and good faith in this complex world. While the majority of the pupils are Catholic, we welcome and support girls of other religious traditions.
The introduction of the Free Education Scheme in summer 1967 led to rapid expansion of enrolments. A new school was built which was opened in 1982.
1982 also marked the drafting and development of the Ten-Year Plan based on the vision of the Ideal School. The Staff Advisory Council emerged also in this context. With the establishment of a Board of Management in 1987, a new partnership between trustees, staff members, parents and students was put in place.
St Louis High School has modern well-equipped facilities to enable the delivery of all programmes. The school has interactive white boards and data projectors and is networked with broadband communication facilities. The Science block features state-of-the-art laboratories and a demonstration/lecture room. Other specialist rooms include those for Music, Geography, Pottery, Home Economics and two large Computer rooms. There is also a concert hall, library, prayer room, study centre, and Cuisle - St Louis Arts and Culture Centre used by students for Music, Drama, Dance and other workshops. As well as a gym, the school has outdoor basketball courts. The school canteen opens at breakfast, break and lunchtime.
