St Marys College - Dublin
Founded by the Holy Ghost Order in in 1890, St Mary’s College Senior School has 440 boys, with a tight-knit sense of community and shared values. They proudly say that they are a small school where everybody knows everybody else, an academic school in which students are expected to go to Third Level, a sporting school that punches above its weight, and a missionary school with strong links to the developing world.
Saint Mary's College C.S.Sp. (Congregatio Sancti Spiritus) is an all-boys' primary & secondary school run by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit and located in Rathmines, County Dublin, Ireland. Rugby is the major sport and the school colours are blue and White.
Around 2000, the school launched a development programme including the construction of a new multi-purpose hall and gymnasium. The Hall was opened in 2003 and has been used for a variety of College events including prize-giving, theatrical productions and seminars, as well as the physical education programme.
In addition to the construction of the hall, the development plan included the construction of a new Senior School canteen, biology laboratory and technology facilities.
St. Mary’s is an academic school where boys are expected to continue to third level education. There is an emphasis on written homework, rigorous study programmes and constant monitoring of progress. Parents are kept informed on a monthly basis and students take formal exams twice per year.
